In February I captured a hip couple on the streets of San Francisco in two of my favorite neighborhoods -- the Mission and the Haight. Amanda and Donovan took me to some of their favorite haunts and we had a great time. Amanda was so nervous Donovan grabbed her a couple of nips from the liquor store across the street (in the form of vodka/cranberry's) to take the edge off. Now that's a sweetheart! She was a perfect delight and they had such amazing chemistry during the shoot... I can't wait to photograph their wedding this May in Napa!
I love it when I stumble upon a surprise while on a shoot... like this mural that became a focal point in some of my favorite pictures taken at Jenie & Ryan's wedding last Fall in San Jose's Hotel Valencia. It had this old world quality to it, where suddenly I was experiencing a moment as though we were in a vivid watercolor painting. Enjoy!
I've never photographed a superhero before, until last Fall when I captured Sheri and Brian's wedding on a hot Indian summer evening last Fall. We flew from Crissy Field and Fort Point where the couple met beforehand for family photos, to the evening celebration at the acclaimed Terra Art Gallery in San Francisco's South of Market. It was a swanky & sexy affair, complete with a live rock band! I'm not joking when I say we didn't want to go home. Take a look for yourselves...(and look closely at the cake-topper to see what I mean!)
No matter how many times I've traveled to Wine & Roses in Lodi, I'm always taken back by how lovely the grounds are when I take my first steps inside the gardens... This was no exception! Leslie & Eric were such a fun loving & stylish couple who played it really cool when there was a sudden change of plans due to a last minute rainy day forecast. We all had a great time and when it came time to eat cake, boy she really let him have it... Enjoy!
It pays to be members at a private access club if it's as gorgeous as the one featured here in Sonoma. Toni & Neil are devoted golf aficionados, so it was only appropriate that they married at the Sonoma Golf Club where they are members. Take a look at some of our favorite images from their wedding last Fall.
Monica and George celebrated a romantic afternoon wedding in one of my favorite Santa Cruz locations in the hills overlooking Monterey Bay, The Hollins House at Pasatiempo. It was a classically beautiful wedding affair - a day that every little girl imagines their perfect wedding day to be... I met Monica through Harumi, but sadly they could not attend eachother's weddings because they chose the same weekend... a busy 48 hours that was!
I felt so incredibly fortunate to have been asked to photograph Harumi & Geno's wedding last Fall on a private estate in Napa Valley. For me, their wedding goes down as one of the most touching and memorable events I've ever had the pleasure of shooting. It's like one of life's special moments that one just can't describe... There was so much emotion hanging in the air. It was a small and intimate affair with just 40 people present, and Geno's tears moved me to tears too!
And last, but not least, the most perfect silhouette of the evening...
Anna & Ed were a lovely couple we captured last summer in a traditional Vietnamese wedding ceremony. They were married at the Skyline United Church and then celebrated the reception at the nearby Casa Real Winery. That's where the fun really began!
Here are a few of our favorite images from that hot August night...
It's good to be back... 2009 has been a whirlwind of a new year since my last post in the Fall. I took some down time for an extended trip to Taiwan to visit my family, participated in Bay Area bridal shows, met some amazing new clients, and have even tackled some personal victories & important goals of mine! It's off to an exciting start to say the least... In between the girls and I have been shooting some of the most incredible engagement and wedding portrait sessions. We're back on track with the blog updates and will be posting regularly some of the current highlights, including some amazing Fall 2008 weddings. Stay tuned for the best of yesterday, today and tomorrow!
