Ann and Erik were married at Kohl Mansion, a beautiful 100 year old tudor with a sprawling lawn and gorgeous gardens. We could not have asked for a more picturesque location to shoot! The "Morning Room" was one of our favorite spots with it's elegant black and white marble floor and huge windows. The library was another of our favorite spots and it's where we started their wedding day with a sweet and intimate tea ceremony. It was a great way for the couple and their close relatives to celebrate the marriage before all of their guests arrived.
Their marriage ceremony took place out on the lawn overlooking the mansion. We have to mention how much we love it when a groom isn't afraid to get a little emotional so naturally it melted our hearts when we saw some tears from Erik as he watched his bride walking down the aisle. We also have to mention how awesome it was that they both brought their pups to the wedding, as we are big dog lovers ourselves! They were a really fun addition.
During their reception, one of Ann's bridesmaids opted to do a special dance for the couple to express her love for them, rather than a traditional toast. It was beautifully done and such a fun change from what we are used to!
It's so wonderful to have such vast variety of backgrounds to use for photos, especially when they are all in one place! It gives us more time for photos and really eases the stress of the day. Ann and Erik's wedding will be one we won't soon forget. Thank you two for having us and we wish you the best!
