Hollins House at Pasatiempo Wedding | Nicole & Richard | Santa Cruz

Nicole & Richard were an adoring couple to shoot for a very memorable first wedding of 2010. While the rain's were coming down steady all over the Bay Area that weekend, we climbed the Santa Cruz mountains and the clouds lifted to reveal a beautiful, clear sky. What was planned to be an indoor ceremony, suddenly became a gorgeous, sunny, outdoor wedding with temperatures at a record high for January. It felt like Spring! We learned that Hollins House was built on top of the mountain especially for this very reason - because there is a special microclimate which often will be 10 to 15 degrees warmer than on mainland. Fascinating!

I chose some special images of Nicole which really captivated me. My new assistant in training took some amazing candid shots which I was so pleased about. The bride looks so radiant and beautiful in the rays of the sun. There were many tears that day, but not raindrops. We think she brought the sunshine with her that day. Nicole and Richard, we wish you all the happiness in the world!

Pebble Beach Wedding | Sarah & Chris | Carmel, Ca.

Appropriate for this lovely, breezy, Bay Area summer we're having is Sarah & Chris's gorgeous wedding we shot under the blue skies of Pebble Beach on the cliffs of historic 17-Mile Drive in Carmel.

Sarah & Chris currently live in Washington DC, and chose to have their wedding reception at a very special place close to their hearts - Sarah's families estate, Casa De La Estralla. The only way to describe it is to imagine walking through the home where Frances Mayes lived in "Under the Tuscan Sun."

Casa De La Estralla has been in Sarah's family for three generations. Guests relished in the breathtaking views of the ocean and the golf course in the near distance... Black and white wedding photos of Sarah's grandparents were on display in the dining room and guests were seated at intimate table settings throughout the home. A fountain bubbled in the courtyard under the twinkling lights where guest's laughter filled the rooms of the estate. The day was full of such charming detail, and fragrantly full of lavender, one of Sarah's favorites! The stunning flower bouquets reminded us of fresh picked garden herbs and wildflowers, and the bride looked so blissfully relaxed and happily in the moment all day long.

Sarah & Chris are such a loving couple with a loving family. It was such a delight to work with them and celebrate at such an intimate venue. It was a memorable day for us indeed! We hope you enjoy some of our favorite images...

Napa Valley Center for Spiritual Living Wedding | Amanda & Donovan

It was a party all day long at Amanda & Donovan's wedding, AND another Blueberry first... An incident I like to refer to as the wedding police. Yes, handcuffs were involved. No, it's not what you're thinking, but way cooler. Mr. Policeman came out to investigate the couple that was illegally trespassing on the train tracks and when he discovered it was just us taking wedding pictures, he actually let Donovan handcuff Amanda. Sweet.

Amanda & Donovan are some of the coolest folks I've ever worked with. He's an amazing tattoo artist and Amanda's his muse. You might remember their amazing Mission Street engagement shoot we posted about last month... Well this one was twice as nice.

We spent the day together in Napa at the Center for Spiritual Living. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception, and uniquely Amanda & Donovan. Amanda literally tattooed her love on Donovan in front of us all (another Blueberry first) and there was breakdancing and sparklers... And as if it were tattooed on my own arm, it was a day I will never forget!

Wente Vineyards Wedding | Erin & Aaron | Livermore

Today we have a sneak peak of a lovely couple named Erin & Aaron whose wedding we shot in beautiful Wente Vineyards on a sunny, but nippy afternoon in late April. Seriously, how cute is it that they both share the same name? Erin was such a doll and so mellow about the temperature as you can see from the photos... She brings such warmth to the camera!

Wine & Roses Wedding | Leslie & Eric | Lodi

No matter how many times I've traveled to Wine & Roses in Lodi, I'm always taken back by how lovely the grounds are when I take my first steps inside the gardens... This was no exception! Leslie & Eric were such a fun loving & stylish couple who played it really cool when there was a sudden change of plans due to a last minute rainy day forecast. We all had a great time and when it came time to eat cake, boy she really let him have it... Enjoy!
