Calistoga and San Francisco Engagement Session | Kay and Cody

Full day engagement sessions are made for those with a love for photos and adventure. It also happens to be a great way to visit some beautiful bay area locations. In the case of Kay and Cody's Engagement session, we started our day by visiting the Castello di Amorosa in Calistoga and then ventured into Napa to find my favorite, tree lined driveway. Everything about wine country breathes romance and it was a fantastic start to our day!

After spending time in Napa, we decided to drive out to San Francisco. We visited San Francisco City Hall, the Palace of Fine Arts, and finished their session out on Baker Beach, just in time for sunset! It was a gorgeous day!

We also have to give a huge "thank you" to Fiona Tsang at Imagi by Fiona for doing such an amazing job on Kay's hair and makeup. It's so great to have a makeup artist travel with us on these long shoots to keep our clients looking their best!

Surprise Proposal and Engagement Session in Napa, CA | Barney & Crystal

Barney is a long time friend of mine who recently moved to New Zealand to be with his beautiful girlfriend, Crystal. They were visiting California this past month and when Barney asked me to secretly document his proposal to Crystal, I was honored to capture this very special moment between two great friends! I love photographing proposals because they are so fun and nerve racking to capture! The proposal took place at the Solage restaurant in Napa, where I was seated and pretending to be just another guest. The manager and I were so anxious and excited, just waiting for it all to happen!

After Crystal said, "yes", we drove around Napa, and stopped off at some beautiful wineries for their engagement session! Barney had me bring balloons and beautiful bouquet made by Amanda at Mandolin Flowers. What a sweetheart! We ended their session in Marin County, with a stunning view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a perfect day!

Congratulations, you two! I can't wait for the wedding!
